How reservations work
From DineOut to your reservation book
DineOut helps diners prepare their booking. Your own system remains responsible for live availability, confirmation, payment conditions and restaurant communication.

DineOut prepares the handoff
The chosen date, time and number of guests are carried into the next step where the booking provider supports it.

The diner completes the booking
With Zenchef, the diner reviews the information and submits the reservation directly in Zenchef.

Your restaurant confirms
A DineOut handoff is not a confirmed reservation until your restaurant or booking system accepts it.
Zenchef setup
Create a DineOut Week reservation tag
A reservation tag gives your team one consistent way to mark DineOut Week bookings inside Zenchef.
Set it up once
Create the tag
- Log in to the Zenchef web application.
- Go to Settings → Reserve → Operations → Tags.
- Click + New.
- Choose Reservation category.
- Name the category Booking source.
- Add the tag DineOut Week 2026 and press Enter.
- Click Save.
Use it on a booking
Apply the tag
- Open the reservation in Zenchef.
- Select Reservation Info.
- Click the Reservation Tags field.
- Select DineOut Week 2026.
The change saves automatically. Remove a tag by clicking the small cross beside it.
Custom tags are available with Zenchef Grow or the Marketing Suite add-on. Tags must be created in the web application. If you cannot create one, check whether your Restaurant PIN is required or contact your Zenchef account manager.
Important
Creating the tag does not make it automatic
The tag helps your team identify a reservation after it has been assigned. Zenchef does not currently document a supported tag= booking-link parameter, so do not rely on incoming DineOut bookings being tagged automatically unless Zenchef confirms this for your account.
DineOut can help you check your reservation link and confirm which booking details reach your Zenchef flow. We will never describe a booking as confirmed before Zenchef or your restaurant accepts it.
